A connected calendar means your notes arrive already titled, dated and tagged with who was in the room. Without one, everything still records; you just name it yourself.
There are three options. One is free, two are Pro.
Apple Calendar
Free, macOS only.
Ghosty Notes reads Apple Calendar directly on your Mac through macOS EventKit. Your events are read on the device. No account, no sign-in, no copy of your calendar on any server.
To turn it on, go to Settings, General, Permissions, and allow Calendar. macOS asks once. If you said no earlier, the same row has a button that opens the right System Settings pane.
The part people miss: Calendar.app on your Mac may already hold your Google or Outlook accounts. If it does, Ghosty Notes sees those events too, for free, through Apple Calendar. Check Calendar.app first. You may not need anything below.
Google Calendar
Pro.
Connect Google directly when your work calendar is not attached to Calendar.app, or when you want the connection to follow you rather than live on one Mac.
- Settings, Calendar.
- Next to Google, select Connect.
- Sign in to Ghosty Notes if you have not already. A connected cloud calendar needs an account.
- Approve the Google consent screen in your browser.
If you are on Free, selecting Connect takes you to the upgrade screen instead.
Outlook
Pro.
Same three steps as Google, using the Outlook row. It signs you in through Microsoft and asks for calendar access.
Which one should you use

Turning individual calendars on and off
Once connected, Settings, Calendar lists every calendar in the account. Switch off the ones you do not want, for example a shared holiday calendar. Only the ones left on are matched to recordings.
If your events are not showing
- Confirm the Calendar permission is granted in Settings, General, Permissions.
- Confirm the specific calendar is switched on in Settings, Calendar.
- Confirm the event is on a calendar Calendar.app actually subscribes to, not one that only exists in a browser tab.
